Performance Management

Performance Management (PM) is a systematic process in an organization that enables and generates effective behaviors and business results. PM is a purposeful work method for enabling improved performance in an organization or a group of individuals. A continuous performance improvement is facilitated by e.g. certain types of administrative processes, supporting technology, benefits and compensation, focus on goals and behaviors, as well as a feedback culture and coaching leadership.

A well implemented PM system creates organizational effectiveness and contributes to a sustainable competitive advantage. The main opportunity but also the main risk of a PM is the degree to which one manages to strengthen the communication and the feedback culture linked to the specific, desired behaviors– this is not primarily a technological challenge, but a challenge  for the leadership.
